Banksy; the mystery

I dont know what it is about anonomys artists, but I just find somthing alluring and mysterious about them. Banksy is another unknown, but at the same time, he is widely known. He is one of the most popular street artists currently. He is believed to have been born in Bristol England around 1974. He began his work on the streets as a grafiti artist around 1990. Most of his works were freehand, then he began to use stencils on occasion, until the late 90's when he began to always use stencils. This is when his style really began to develop and become recognizable all across London and Bristol.

Banksy likes to use his art to convey messages sometimes political, critiquing war, capitalism, hipocrisy as well as greed. He likes to use images that will really catch your attention as well as sometimes an image.

Personally, I am drawn to his work because he is unknown and doesn't want fame or credit and I like artists who are street artists because they typically aren't typical. I like art that is different and especially art that conveys messages. Banksy does all of that exactly. The looks of his art are just increadible.
