My Philosophy of art

Art is a word with many different meanings and ideas. So many things can be considered art. Art is something created usually with meaning behind it. There are more simple artworks, as well as complex, but they can all be considered art. The artistic level of the piece can only be determined by opinions of the artist and it’s viewers, because every piece of art makes different people feel different ways.

This year I  picked “Harmony” as my theme in all of my artworks. I  picked “Harmony” because I  love the feeling of harmony and wanted to convey the feeling through my art. I  also wanted a broad theme that was flexible with many different ideas. My favorite part of art is the ability to convey my emotions through my work and share them with my viewers. My main focus is to create something I'm proud of and others want to look at. I ‘ve always loved to mix different medias, but my favorite medias are colored pencils, and watercolors.

While creating my works I  considered how I  could combine the theme with the thing that I  was able to create. I  used new ideas and medias to challenge myself and try new things. I  wanted a story behind each of my works and to show a part of me. One of my biggest struggles was my lack of confidence in myself as an artist. I ‘ve started to like my works more, because in order for others to like them I  believe I  should like it too. My overall goal I  believe I  accomplished was making my art my own, giving myself a challenge and leaving others who view my work intrigued and wanting to know more.
