Sean Yoro Aka HULA

Sean Yoro is an artist originally from Hawaii who later traveled to New York and began to have a great interest in art after learning to draw the human body. One day Yoro went on an underwater photo shoot and then had the idea for what is now one of his greatest projects. He photographs women and then paints murals of them. What is so special about this you might ask. Well first of all, the photographs taken of the women arent glamorous. They look natural and have the slightest bit of emotion you're able to see only if you look deep enough. Secondly, all of these murals are painted using acrylic paint on abandond builings in the water. The women are painted to look as if they are in the water. How exactly does Yoro paint these murals? He uses a stand up paddle board and manages to balence enough to paint the beautiful artworks.

Below is a picture of Yoro and one of his murals

Below is a picutre of Yoro balencing on his board to paint the mural.

Below are two of Yoro's completed works. The murals seem as if they are reflecting into the water. Yoro says it takes him from 10-12 hours to finish one work.

Yoro does more than just murals on water. And although these are really amazing some of his other works are just as cool. He paints his portraits of the women and he uses surfboards as a canvas. Below are some of his other works.
