Roa: the little know street artist
There isn't much known about the street artist Roa other than the fact his artworks are increadible. He is from Belgium. Roa is a muralist and his main focus are different animals, mainly rodents. As a kid, he would even bring skulls from animals home to practice drawing them. He likes to combine life, and life after death. Most of his murals are all throughout Europe although you can find the artworks all over the world. Roa uses spray paint as well as acrylic pant. He tends to paint the animals on abandoned builings in different areas. All of the animals that Roa designs are meant to be interpreted in different ways by different people. He tries to paint animals where they are common.
Below is a picture of Roa, himself in the process of one of his murals.
Below are two of the animals that Roa has designed to seem dead, or seem alive, even with parts that make them seem dead. This is an example of how Roa combines life with death.
Making the animals appear dead is not the only thing that Roa focuses on. He also creates animals that appear to be alive. Below are two of them.
I was really drawn to his artwork because I really love how he isn't so famous and how he does art for the sake of art. His murals are so deatailed and can have different meaning to all the people that look at them. I like fact they aren't on paper and instead he uses abandon buildings as a canvas in all different parts of the world. Im just really interested in his style.
